Raymond James expands model portfolios to support advisors serving high-net-worth clients

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Raymond James is expanding its Private Wealth platform by further enhancing the investment resources, specialized expertise and support for financial advisors serving high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients. Through its newly introduced Private Wealth Guided Portfolios offering, advisors have access to integrated traditional and alternative investments within a risk-based, diversified portfolio framework.

The model combines traditional equity and fixed income building blocks with a dedicated alternatives allocation, offering exposure to private markets and hedged strategies alongside public market investments in a balance aligned with clients’ risk profiles.

“At Raymond James, we’re committed to being a destination for private wealth advisors and the clients they serve. Individuals and families with significant wealth require truly personal advice, backed by the right resources, to navigate their financial opportunities and complexities. Private Wealth Guided Portfolios are a meaningful addition to those resources, providing advisors with another way to help clients access alternative investments thoughtfully and in alignment with their goals,” said Tash Elwyn, Private Client Group president.

Asset Management Services, which oversees portfolio construction for the models, works closely with the firm's Private Markets and Alternatives team to conduct ongoing due diligence and monitoring. This combined approach provides advisors with additional resources and insights while preserving their ability to tailor recommendations to each client's unique financial goals.

“Our focus is on empowering financial advisors with the breadth of resources and expert support needed to serve high-net-worth clients with greater choice and confidence,” said Doug Brigman, president of Asset Management Services. “We work collaboratively by providing consultation, rigorous due diligence and ongoing guidance that maintains advisors at the center of every client relationship.”

“Access to private markets can provide clients with broader diversification and exposure to corners of the market that are not available through public markets alone. Advisors are increasingly incorporating these strategies in their portfolio construction to support clients’ long-term objectives,” said Ken Novak, head of Private Markets Strategy and co-head of the Alternatives Group.

The enhancements further underscore Raymond James’ commitment to supporting advisors who serve high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth households with resources and solutions designed to evolve alongside client needs and market environments. The firm’s holistic approach to Private Wealth encompasses advanced investment management solutions, estate and charitable planning, lending and cash management, risk mitigation and management and intergenerational wealth strategies.

Through the Raymond James Private Wealth Advisor designation program, advisors are empowered to leverage the breadth of resources available, while building relationships with specialized support throughout the firm and joining a peer community of advisors. Since its launch in 2022, nearly 450 advisors have successfully earned the designation.
